Our prayers have been heard!
I just received a phone call from my oncologist at M.D. Anderson, with what I consider to be good news. After our devastating consultation last Monday, the oncologist was confused about how my cancer was acting. It wasn’t responding to the normal treatment for a neuroendricine cancer, and a neuroendricine cancer would have grown much more than mine has. He asked another Pathologist to reexamined the sample, and they now believe it is a different type of cancer. Now they are thinking that it is more of an adenocarcinoma, which is more common and I believe more treatable. I got off the phone and cried the first tears of joy I had cried in a long time. After having received the worst news imaginable a couple days ago, I now have a new course of treatment and the hope that goes along with that. I am going to sleep so much better tonight! Thank you so much to everyone for all the prayers. I truly believe…"Our prayers have been heard!" Praise God! Halleluiah!

Yes, Tony our prayers have been heard. We will keep on praying and now that they have found the right treatment the results should be a lot different. Lorenz & LaVon
ReplyDeleteYesterday was one of the most flip flop days I've had in my life... from asking why ... to saying Thank God. You know I'm praying and thinking of you daily. But next time wait for the good news until I'm out of the grocery store.. I hate when people see me cry.. Even tears of Joy.. Love ya Bro.....Cory

Tony,
ReplyDeleteYou don't know me. I went to high school with your cousin Rusty Lenners. I played high school football and basketball with him. He was and still is a dear friend of mine. Last November I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Leiomyosarcoma (a very rare form of cancer). I understand all to well your fears and at times loneliness. I am happy that you have received the good news you were searching for. As I have followed your journal I can tell you have a strong faith and I am sure you have a wonderful family as well. Keep up the fight and this cancer survivor will continue to follow your battle.
Sincerely,
Ethan Dschaak

Wow! I just finished praying for you with the boys. We prayed that God would just heal every single cancer cell. Then I came up and Phil told me I had to read your blog. God is so good! We just brought your name up to some college alumni of mine who we spent the last two days with and asked for them to pray for you as well. More people are praying now than ever. Nothing is impossible with God. Luke 1:37
ReplyDeleteFight the Fight, Tony. Have faith. We love you!!

ReplyDeleteTony what a roller coaster ride ... never say never. Thank God for the good news! I'm sure many are celebrating with you. We do not know what God's plans are and we can not know His mind. So continue to trust in Him through bad news and good news because it is then that He will use you to glorify Him! God bless you!

I saw your link on LiveStrong. I'm a 44 year-old colorectal cancer patient (stage 3 signet ring adenocarcinoma). I've just finished a 13-month course of chemo + radiation, surgery, then more chemo. Good luck with your new therapy.
